Wolves down Donoho

Fayetteville rushes for 209 yards, holds Donoho out of the end until final play to remain undefeated

FAYETTEVILLE – Darius Cook scored on a 4-yard run and ran in the two-point conversion with 6:57 to play and Fayetteville’s defense held Donoho out of the end zone until the final play of the game to down the Falcons 14-9 and remain undefeated.

The Wolves (5-0) rushed for 209 yards as a team. The Falcons (1-3) totaled 183 yards.

Mitchell Baker was Donoho’s leading rusher with 68 yards on 16 carries. Garrett Steed had 50 yards on 15 carries.

Baker also kicked a 44-yard field goal and Steed threw a touchdown pass to Robert Clausen on the final play of the game. Steed threw of 44 yards on 3-of-5 passing.

Steed also led the defense with 10 tackles. Will Nelson and Jesse McWilliams each had nine.

The Falcons have lost three in a row for the first time since 2012.
