Donoho volleyball sweeps

BIRMINGHAM — Jordan Ray and Kayla Wallace both enjoyed big nights Monday as Donoho’s volleyball team swept through Shades Mountain Christian and Holy Spirit in two games each.
The Falcons (16-8), currently No. 2 in Class 1A, made quick work of SMC 25-5, 25-6 and defeated Holy Spirit 25-22, 25-12.
In the SMC match, Ray had five kills and 11 aces, Wallace had nine aces and Camille Fink had four kills and two aces.
Against Holy Spirit, Ray had four kills, five assists and 11 digs; Wallace had four kills and three aces; Madison Gaines had four kills and two aces; and Hannah Christian had three kills and two aces.
The Falcons return to action Thursday in a tri-match at Pleasant Valley with West End. They learn their seeding in the upcoming Calhoun County Tournament on Wednesday.
